Director of Production

A stereotypical Libra, I'm a study in contradictions. Born on an Army base in suburban Washington, DC, I came to Berkeley to major in Peace Studies.

Graduating with a liberal arts degree, I hoofed it as a print journalist, covering Latin American trade and business news, which in the mid-90s meant bananas, textiles and NAFTA. Then I rode the dot-com train as a web developer at a large consumer website, through boom to bust and boom again. And bust again.

Released from the constant search for advertising revenue, I landed at ISIS as the production director, walking the delicate tightrope of content partners, technology vendors, politics and personalities.

Paths not taken: librarian, rabbi, bookstore owner.

In my spare time, I tend to the care and feeding of my son and my overwhelming book collection and dream about traveling the world.
