Natalie Zensius

Director of Marketing and Communications

ISIS' mission has a lot of personal resonance for me. As a parent of two college students, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities intrinsic to raising sexually healthy young adults in such a high noise-to-signal world.

I lived in England until I was 18. I've moved several times and started over more than once, which has taught me humility, resilience and tenacity; traits I find very useful in my work. After art school, I worked in the film industry, the corporate world, and then the non-profit world; a place I now feel very much at home in. I've seen the marketing communications landscape change dramatically over the last ten years. Things move quickly and I'm fascinated and invigorated by the new demands placed on us in today's marketplace, but I also know that the basic principles of communication remain the same. New tools are just that–tools.

While I can fall deep into the internet for hours on end and love the wealth of information and engagement that is possible there, I am just as happy unplugging for days or weeks at a time and getting outside and away to find inspiration from other sources. Running, hiking and backpacking around rivers and mountains are some of my favorite ways to recharge. I volunteer my time as a board member for Friends of the River, a California-statewide river conservation organization, because rivers in California need friends.
